As of Term 3, a NSW State Government policy called Every Student, Every School
will come into place affecting funding for those students who have a physical
disability, vision or hearing disability or a learning difficulty such as autism,
mental health issues and language disorders or delays.

Previously each student who got funding had to go through an individual
process of determining how much funding they got depending on their
disability level. This was determined with the help of experts, counsellors
and doctors.

With this new program funding will be allocated based on
previous NAPLAN results and the general prevalence of autism in the wider
community. As NAPLAN is only done by primary students in years 3 and 5,
funding will depend on how children in years 3 and 5 perform and not take
into account if children in other years need more or less funding.
